Natural Gas - If your home is already hooked up to a natural gas line, natural gas is the way to go. If your home has a natural gas connection, but your fireplace does not, a certified plumber will be able to retrofit your fireplace for natural gas. Natural gas is cheaper than propane - the trade-off is that it does not burn as hot.


Liquid Propane - If your home does not have a natural gas connection, liquid propane will be your best bet. This fuel is supplied to the gas log set from a fuel tank outside your home that is refilled as needed.
