The Empire Ponderosa Vent-Free Gas Log Set is part of Empire's White Mountain Hearth line of gas logs. These refractory cement gas logs are detailed by hand to precisely mimic the characteristic look of ponderasa pine. Empire has created a nice high stack with this set that will really fill out your fireplace. Included with this set is Empire's ANSI-Certified Slope Glaze Burner. Its special glaze coating varies the flow of gas, which creates a very realistic dancing flame. The controls on this burner are nicely concealed to maintain a natural look.

Complete the Look with Accessories

An ember bed and glowing embers are very helpful in creating the most natural-looking gas log set, and we offer both. Our Ember Bed Kit lays down a rugged base of rocks, ash, and ceramic log chips. Adding Platinum Embers to the heart of the fire will give it that steady glow. To add these accessories to your order, just check the boxes below, after you choose the options on your gas log set.

All White Mountain Hearth gas logs available in both natural gas and propane.

    • Are these non-vented sets approvd in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

    • Can you tell me more about the 4 different ignition choices? What are the differences between a variable flame with remote, the mllivolt remote ready and the intermittant pilot with variable remote? What are the different installation requirements for each?
      Thanks
      Anne
    • The installation for all the ignition types is simple. They all have to be connected the same way and they just have different functions.

The Manual Safety Pilot has a pilot light that you have to manually start and start the burner manually inside the fireplace.

The Variable Flame with Remote has a standing pilot light and you turn the burner on and off and adjust the flame up and down with a remote control. You have to keep the pilot light lit for the remote control to work

The Millivolt Remote ready option is a standing pilot light as well. You would pick this option if you wanted to add an on/off remote or if you wanted to wire it to a wall switch. The on/off remote control is sold separately.

The Intermittent with Variable Control is an electronic ignition. It is battery operated. There is no pilot light and any time you want to use the fireplace, you just use the remote control. The remote control turns the burner on and off, adjusts the flame and also has a thermostat. The thermostat is on the remote control, so you set a temp and once it hits that temp, it will shut down the burner
