- I have a18 inch G4 Gas Log Set; Woodland Oak style. The problem is that it makes toomuch soot. It turns the inside of the fire place the mantle and some on my AC filter. It also does not smell good. What can I do to stop this. Last year it worked good, but this yaer I did not use it. I like my fire place and would like to use it but I feel it is a danger.
- This is a great question. First off check to make sure your logs are pushed towards the back of the fireplace and your logs are positioned like your instruction manual states. Second make sure your outside air intake is not blocked by nests, etc. Check to make sure you have no blockage in your exhaust and that your damper is fully open. Have you had a new furnace, windows, or doors installed since you last used your logs? These changes could have made your house more airtight and will not allow your fireplace to draw properly. You can take a candle and light it, hold it a couple inches away from the top of your fireplace opening with the logs burning and then blow out the candle. Watch where the smoke goes. If it goes into the room you have a draw problem and should get someone in there to check it out.

Items in stock will be received by you in approximately 5 – 10 days. We only ship within the Continental United States and cannot ship to Post Office boxes. For this reason it is important to inspect your delivery soon after it arrives even if it will not be installed or used immediately. Please call before shipping back any return.
